Frequently Asked
Questions
Do I have to be a student
at Kennesaw State to qualify for the certificate?
No. We welcome non-degree seeking students into
our undergraduate courses. There are a
wide variety of courses across campus which utilize SPSS including Economics,
Marketing, Psychology, Political Science and Statistics. At this point, our undergraduate courses are
taught during traditional student hours.
We are working towards offering more courses at night and online. We do not allow non-degree seeking students
into our Masters-level courses. For more
information on the MSAS program, click here.
Do I have to pursue a
Minor in Applied Statistics and Data Analysis to qualify for the certificate?
No. SPSS is a package which is widely used across
campus – particularly in Psychology and the College Of Business. Students are welcome to pursue their SPSS
courses from any department – as long as the requirements outlined above are
met.
After I have taken my
courses and met all of the requirements, how do I receive my certificate?
Place
all of your assignments into a binder with tabs – students in the Minor in
Applied Statistics and Data Analysis receive this binder when they enroll in
the Minor. Make an appointment to see
Dr. Jennifer Lewis Priestley (jpriestl@kennesaw.edu). She will review your submission and request
the Certificate from SPSS on your behalf.
Will this Certificate
show up on my transcript?
No. You should include the award of this
Certificate on your resume. However, it
will not be included on your official transcript from Kennesaw State
University. If you are pursuing a Minor
in Applied Statistics and Data Analysis, your Minor will appear on your final
transcript.
