MAED 4416 - Teaching of Mathematics (6-12)

• Prerequisite: MATH 3495, MAED 3475, admission to teacher education
• Credit hours: 6-0-6 credit hours
• An examination and application of curricular issues, learning theories, teaching strategies, instructional materials, and assessment procedures for teaching secondary school ,mathematics in the multicultural and diverse classroom of today. Includes a secondary school field experience in mathematics teaching and seminars. Emphasizes those practices suggested by research in mathematics education and encouraged by the NCTM and the MAA. Proof of professional liability insurance is required prior to receiving a school placement.
